The Salt Lake Tribune from Salt Lake City, Utah (2024)

Salt Lake Tribune OBITUARIES Friday, January 11, 2002 B7 The Brady Eugene Blaser BOUNTIFUL-On January 7, 2002. our beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, Brady, decided to return to his Heavenly Father after a valiant fight with Muscular Dystrophy. His infectious smile and quick wit entertained many while his courage and faith inspired us all. Brady was born on December 22, 1977 to Stephen and Earlene Blaser. Despite doctors diagnosing that he would only live six weeks, he blessed our lives for 24 years.

Brady defied ail expectations by being baptized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints despite his tracheotomy. Through his faith he became an Elder and received his temple endowments. Brady's love of the scriptures and his faith in Jesus Christ always sustained him. Brady was the 1986 MDA poster child. When Brady was young he enjoyed pulling his friends around the rolling-skating rink behind his wheelchair.

Brady graduated from Woods Cross High School, and his intelligence was evident to anyone who engaged him in a political or religious debate. A registered Republican, Brady enjoyed listening to Rush Limbaugh, and watching the O' Reilly Factor. His dream of meeting former President Bush came true. Brady wanted to remind everyone to vote republican. Brady's life was his friends and family.

and his friends and family gave him life. Brady's room was the favorite high school hangout, always filled with teenagers listening to music, snacking and laughing. When not found in his room, Brady was busy visiting friends, watching high school sports, dance recitals, movies, going grocery shopping, meeting celebrities, and attending farewells, homecomings and firesides. Brady suffered collapsed lungs, broken bones and numerous surgeries and yet kept a positive attitude. He brought out the best in those who knew him.

Brady's philosophy was "with God all things are possible. The Blaser family would like to thank, Dr. Daniel Calabrese and Dr. Glenn C. Griffin, for their hundreds of house calls, the nurses arid all those who lovingly attended to Brady's medical needs.

Brady is survived by his loving parents; his seven siblings, Burke (Jennifer), Brittany Odom (Chris), Brandon (Liz), B.J., Brett (serving in the San Juan Puerto Rico Mission), Bobbie Jo, Bridget; six nieces and one nephew; and many close friends that are too numerous to name. He was preceded in death by his grandparents LeRoy and Rachel Blaser and Earl and Emma Anderson of Logan, Utah; his Uncle DeOrr Wight and Aunt JoAnn Russon. God saw you were getting tired And a cure was not to be, So He put His arms around you And whispered, "Come with me With tearful eyes we watched you suffer And saw you fade away, Although we loved you dearly, We could not make you stay. So when we saw you sleeping, So peacefully from pain, We could not wish you back To suffer that way again. A golden heart stopped beating, Your hard-working hands were at rest, As God then gently called for His brightest and his best.
