His trip was no big guided! tour, complete secretaries' assistants, Allen went alone, except for three dozen bats, many baseballs, and six gloves. The equipment was an afterthought, because he figured communities would at least have bats and balls.

But the bats Honduras were too heavy the baseballs would make nickel rocker look like something from Tiffany's. The countries on either af Honduras--Nicaragua Venezuela -are extremely baseball conscious. There are winter leagues there. well fortified with pro players from the states. Has Two In Mind The challengers Levene has in mind are Brian London and Joe Erskine, both former British champions. D'Amato, Patterson's manager, wants Floyd to fight as often as he can this year." Levene said. "And he asked me to London and Erskine. "This will be confirmed in a statement from New York on Wednesday." Levene is D'-Amato's agent in Britain. In New York, D'Amato said, have no comment to make at this time." This new talk of a London or a Patterson-Erskine fight popped up a few hours after American promoter Bill Rosensohn announced in New York that the site for the PattersonIngremar Johansson fight will be announced Tuesday.

Looks Warmup Puzzled? Well, D'Amato's idea, apparently, is to give Patterson a warm-up fight against one of the Britons before tackling the tough Johansson, reigning European champion from Sweden. possibility that one of the Britons will defeat Patterson is considered remote. Johansson is rated the number one challengeyr. In the American NBA ratings, London is rated fifth and Erskine ninth. Negotiations for the PattersonJohansson fight have been going on for months.

The date for the fight will depend on which city gets the fight. In the meantime the big talk in British fight circles is that Buffalo promoter Pedro Martinez has offered London about 000 pounds ($70,000) for a title fight in April or May. The suggested site is the Memorial Auditorium, Buffalo. Holy Name Is Grammar King Holy Name defeated DIt. Carmel, 14-23, Monday to its grammar school league title.
