and Mrs. Everett Ward, of Camarillo, and Mr. and Mrs. Marcel Van Driesche, of Staton, Oregon, spent nesday night with Mr. and Mrs.

Carl Hatfield. They visited Thursday with Mr. Mr. and Mrs. Everett and Rue Berry.

Mr. Ward is a cousin of Mrs. Hatfield, Mrs. Berry and Brice Everett. He was born and reared in this community, but this is his first visit back here since 1924.

Mr. and Mrs. Tommie Presley spent Sunday at the Madison County Hospital with their daughter, Mrs. Naideen Drake, of Huntsville. Mrs.

Drake underwent surgery Sunday morning. Mrs. Earn Montgomery of Springdale, spent last week here at her home. Mr. Montgomery came Friday and returned her to Springdale.

Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hatfield, Mr. Mrs. John Goucher and Mr.

and Mrs. Loy Goucher attended funeral for "Cull" Carter at Venus Monday afternoon. Mrs. Dan Price and Eric, of Springfield, spent last week with her parents and brother, Mr. and Mrs.

Frank Grubbs and Mr. and Mrs. Denton Grubbs and sons. The pie supper held here last. Friday night for the youth baseball program was well attended and netted $136.65.

The supper was sponsored by the E. H. Club members. Alcoholism Institute Planned The Northwest Arkansas District Nurses' Association and the VA Hospital, Nursing Service are co-sponsoring an Institute for professional on ril 27 at the Fayetteville VA Hospital. Born June 6, 1908 in her father and mother were Arthur Shrum and Della Keck Shrum. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 15, at 1:00 p.m.

Burial was in the Venus Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home. MACK M. WILLIAMS Mack M. Williams, 63, of St. Paul was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Madison County Hospital, Monday, April 17.

Born November 28, 1903 at Aurora, he was a Veteran of World War II and a farmer. Graveside services will be held today, Thursday, April 20, at 2:00 at the Riverside Cemetery at St. Paul. He is survived by one sister, Alpha Williams of St. Paul, THOMAS C.

LUPER Thomas C. Luper, 83, of Jeroma, Idaho, died April 5. He was a native of Compton, Newton County. He was born 1 May 13, 1883 a son of Jackson and Margaret Snow Luper. 1 He was a retired farmer and had lived in Jerome, Idaho for 30 years.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mattie Luper four sons, Clyde Luper of Compton, Wilburn Luper, Russell Luper and Farris Luper of Jerome, Idaho five daughters, Mrs. Jewell Jackson, Mrs. Violet Stevens, and Mrs. Mary Arbaugh of Jerome, Idaho, Mrs.

Kate Armer of Berryville, Mrs. Villines of Ponca; a brother, Will Luper of Missouri; 30 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. JOHN DOUGLAS VAUGHN John Douglas Vaughn, 88, died Friday April 14 in Madison County Hospital. Born March 25, 1879 at Clifty, he was a retired farmer, a member of the Church of Christ and a lifelong resident of the Clifty community. He is survived by the widow, Mrs.

Frank Becker officiating. Burial in the Nail( Newton Co.) cemetery. W. BERT CASEY W. Bert Casey, 82, of Siloam Springs, died March 23.

He was born Feb. 23, 1885 at Boxley, a son of A. F. and Miranda Brooks Casey. He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and also attended George Peabody College in Nashville, Tenn.

He taught English for a number of years, at Arkansas Tech. and was a former county supervisor of schools in Newton County. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors are a sister, Mrs. C.

M. Sisco and a. brother, Sam Casey both of Siloam Springs and a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral services were held at Boxley. He was a brother of the late Charles B.
