At least the double play was really hard contact. I can live with that. Gonna be really hard to keep winning with this offensive production.

Top 7th, after giving up a 1 out single, S. Quigley has a scoreless inning that ends with a line out to 1B double play. 1-0 UConn. Quigley at 107 pitches, it will be interesting to see if he starts to pitch another inning.

I would put Afthim out in the 8th, Quiggers has been incredible but his velocity is down.

Great pitching by both starters. Balls on and out, up and down, changing speeds. High level pitching and defense by both teams.

I am blown away by how well we’ve pitched and played defense for 16 innings. Utterly shocked.
Do we see more Quigs? Does Afthim come in for 2? Do we try to get one or two more outs with Afthim from Sullivan and maybe a lefty on lefty match up? I have no clue. But I know some amenities would be a good thing.

Davis has looked great but UConns offense has been battling through some tough at bats. That grinding approach got them the only run which was always going to be tough to come by against a pitcher as dialed in as this. Mixing 3 quality pitches and throwing all for strikes

Their pitcher is really good. But he’s given up three walks and we haven’t given up any. We’ve given up 2 free 90s in 16 innings unreal.

Davis leaves with 2 on 1 out in the 7th. Kid is a stud. Not sad to see him leave

Agreed, the walks are making a big difference. I will give credit to the hitters though as most of those free passes have come after long at bats not true freebies
